Cancellations and postponements of Japan-related events in 1 list (2020)

It is a difficult situation right now, because of the COVID-19 pandemic a lot of events are uncertain, got postponed or even cancelled. Lately, AVO Magazine has been publishing a lot of such messages causing the overview to be lost. Time for such a summary to keep you informed, but also to give an idea which artists and events got hit by the current situation. Looking for 2021 announcements? Then you have to be here.

2020

Events in the list are listed in order of the month in which they would take place.

March

Made in Asia (Belgium): Convention got postponed to September 2020.
Rie Fu: European tour got postponed. (No new dates are known)
sokoninaru: European tour got cut short.
DEFILED: European tour got cut short.
DJ Krush: European tour got cut short.
Hatis Noit: Performance in Utrecht got cancelled.
Kenta Hayashi: Italian tour got cut short.
SURVIVE: European tour got postponed. (New dates will probably take place in October)

April

MUCC: European tour got cancelled.
LOUDNESS: European tour got postponed. (No new dates are known)
FATE GEAR: Extra German shows in April got cancelled.
David: Show in Paris got postponed to July 2020.
Deshima Sounds: Party at Willemeen in Arnhem got postoned. (New date unknown)
TomoCon: Convention got postponed to September 2020.
OOIOO: European tour got postponed to November. (Dates will be announced soon.)
DEVILOOF: European tour got postponed to Spring 2021. (Dates will be announced soon.)
Salón del Manga in Alicante 2020: Convention got moved to June.
Animuc 2020: Convention got cancelled. 2021 edition got announced.
GIRLFRIEND: International shows got cancelled. (See also July)
PolyManga 2020: Convention got postponed to April 2021.

May

THE BAWDIES: European tour got cancelled.
Monster of Dolls: Festival got postponed to November 2020.
DoKomi: Convention got postponed to September 2020.
Heroes Made in Asia: Convention got postponed to August 2020.
Japan Market Leiden: Event is cancelled. (New date is announced for 2021)
Moshi Moshi Fair: Event got cancelled.
Nishicon: Convention got postponed to August 2020.
Dhidalah: European tour got postponed. (Dates will be announced soon.)
J-Popcon 2020: Convention got cancelled. The 2021 edition got announced.
Hanami Ludwigshafen 2020: Convention is cancelled. An online event and 2021 are announced.
Yuko Araki: European tour got cancelled.

June

AnimeCon Classic 2020 got postponed to September 2021.
Hellfest 2020 got cancelled and the 2021 edition is announced. BABYMETAL and Maximum the Hormone would perform here.
Nippon Connection 2020 got cancelled. An online edition will take place.
Graspop Metal Meeting 2020 got cancelled and the 25th edition will take place in 2021. BABYMETAL and CRYSTAL LAKE would perform here.
Rock am Ring and Rock im Park 2020 are cancelled. BABYMETAL would perform here.
TomoFair Utrecht is cancelled and the next edition will take place in June 2021.
TsuShiMaMiRe: European tour got cancelled.
Haru Nemuri: Performance in France at Japannecy got cancelled.
BABYMETAL: European tour (second tour of this year) got cancelled.
Summer Geek Festival: Convention got cancelled.
Otoboke Beaver: European tour got postponed.
CRYSTAL LAKE: European tour got cancelled.
Heavenstamp: UK tour got postponed.

July

HYPER JAPAN: Festival got postponed. (EDIT: 11 June: Cancelled)
Tokyo 2020: Olympic Summer Games postponed to 2021.
Roskilde Festival 2020: Festival is cancelled. OOIOO and CHAI were supposed to perform here.
Japan Expo Paris: Festival will not take place in 2020, 21st edition will take place in 2021.
Wacken Open Air 2020 got cancelled. LOUDNESS would perform here.
CampZone 2020 got cancelled. An online edition will take place.
2& (DOUBLE AND) and Mariko Takei: European tour got postponed. (New dates not announced)
AnimagiC 2020: Convention got cancelled. The 2021 edition got announced.
Atsusacon 2020: Convention got cancelled. The 2021 edition got announced.
GIRLFRIEND: International shows got cancelled. (See also April)
High 5ive Summer Fest 2020: Festival got postponed to 2021.
NärCon Sommar: Convention got postponed to 2021.
David: Show in Paris got postponed (again) to April 2021.
ANTHEM: European tour got cancelled.

August

MONO Japan: Event got postponed to February 2021.
Nishicon 2020: Convention got postponed again and will now take place in 2021. (Dates will be announced soon.)
Abunai! 2020: Convention got postponed to the last weekend of August 2021.
Viencon 2020: Convention got postponed to the last weekend of August 2021.
Heroes Made in Asia: Convention got postponed again. Now planned for May 2021.
Kanon Wakeshima: short European tour got postponed. (No new dates are known)

September

Connichi 2020: Convention will skip 2020 and announced new dates in 2021. Online edition announced.
SCANDAL: European shows got postponed.
TomoCon: convention is moved to 2021, they will organise a smaller version called TinyTomo.
Made in Asia Brussels: Postponed edition got cancelled. Dates for 2021 announced.
Aldious: European tour postponed to 2021.
Rina Sawayama: Postponed UK tour will get postponed once again to 2021.
HELL FREEZES OVER: European tour postponed.

October

KeiMania: Festival got postponed to 2021.
MAG 2020: is cancelled. Online edition announced.
Bo Ningen: UK tour got postponed to 2021.
Acid Mothers Temple: European tour cancelled.
Esprit D’Air: 10th-anniversary show goes online.

November

Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show: Postponed to April 2021.
Nihon no hanga’s November exhibition postponed to 2021.
Monster Of Dolls 2020: Postponed to september 2021.

No known month

AnimeCon: Regular edition will take place in 2021.
MELT-BANANA: European tour planned for this Summer got cancelled.
