Heavy metal band ANTHEM is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year and was planning to tour Europe as part of this celebration. This tour has been cancelled by the band. The band shared a message on their official website and social media.
The reason to cancel the European tour has not been shared by the band, although it can be guessed that the current situation around COVID-19 is the reason for the cancellation. At this moment, several festivals such as Bang Your Head!! and Headbangers Open Air were postponed to 2021, which means that a couple of the tour dates were already cancelled from the European tour that ANTHEM had planned for July. Currently, the band is discussing to reschedule the European to next year.
ANTHEM recently decided it was time to expand its activities area by participating in several rock festivals abroad, in addition to large-scale anniversary tours in Japan. In addition to cancelling the European tour, the band had to postpone their show on 23 May, although other shows that fall under the 35th-anniversary shows of ANTHEM are still planned to continue.
All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
