The organisation behind Made in Asia in Belgium sent out an important message for the fans of Asian pop culture. The event will not take place on 13, 14 and 15 March, but will be postponed to the beginning of September. The decision had been made due to various reasons, connected with the global impact of COVID-19.
According to the organisation, almost all Asian guests are no longer able to visit the event due to measures taken by their respective governments. In addition, many exhibitors are no longer able to import necessary products from affected regions and are experiencing logistical problems. The growing problems of the last few days made it too difficult for Made in Asia to guarantee a quality event with all the planned activities. The new dates are 4, 5 and 6 September at Brussels Expo.
Tickets purchased for the March event remain valid for the next edition of Made in Asia, on 4, 5 and 6 September 2020. Ticket holders who request a refund will be refunded.
Several Japanese musicians were planned for this event, such as Rie Fu, sokoninaru, and G.L.A.M.S. All of these musicians had a European tour announced, sokoninaru just started their tour with a show in The Netherlands being sold out and their Milan show cancelled and G.L.A.M.S also currently touring. Since the announcement of Made in Asia, the European tour of Rie Fu got postponed as well.
