Sad news for the fans who were waiting to enjoy another edition of Desertfest in Berlin or London or maybe both, these editions are cancelled according to the announcements of both events. They were both planned for the beginning of May.
The cancellations had to be made due to the difficult situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Both festivals were looking for a possibility to move it to another date later in 2020, but that plan didn’t work out. They are now working on their 10th-anniversary edition in 2021.
For Desertfest Berlin, Japanese bands Minami Deutsch and Dhidalah were planning to perform. Dhidalah had a short European tour planned around this time, but this got cancelled as well. Although the band is looking for a way to return soon. BlackLab, a dark witch doom duo from Osaka would have their overseas debut at Desertfest in London.
For those with tickets for one or both events, they are able to use it for the 2021 edition, that will take place in May for both events. It is also possible to refund it. For the event taking place in London, the organisation is offering a voucher, that can be used as an early-bird ticket and help to support the independent event for the coming months.
