The world tour by singer-songwriter AKASAKI, which was announced with great fanfare in July, has been cancelled in its entirety. This was announced earlier today via the young musician’s social media accounts.
The world tour, entitled ONIGIRI, was supposed to consist of eleven shows from October through December, including three European dates in Paris, Cologne and London. The reason for the cancellation is said to be due to a number of circumstances, but the exact circumstances were not specified. Ticket sales for the European shows, which were due to start on 5 August, had already been postponed, with the entire world tour eventually being cancelled a week later.
AKASAKI and his team have offered their sincere apologies to their fans who were looking forward to the performances, as well as to everyone else involved with the tour, and hope hope that fans will continue to support AKASAKI going forward. Only time will tell whether further information regarding the cancellation will be released in the near future and whether the musician will plan a new world tour.

His debut single 弾きこもり (Hikikomori) was released in April 2024, soon after more digital releases followed, such as Bunny Girl, which became very popular on social media platforms. In 2025, he performed the theme song 連れてって (Take Me With You) for the anime adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s award-winning sci-fi light novel ALL YOU NEED IS KILL. He recently made his commercial debut with EMI Records; shortly before this, he released his first indie album, last YOUNG.
