After the decisions of the Belgium government to cancel all events in Belgium until the end of August 2020, it was clear that Summer Geek Festival could not take place at the original planned dates. The organisation decided to cancel the 2020 edition of Summer Geek Festival, but came directly with good news.

In a Facebook message, the organisation explains why they decided to cancel the event: “We have made the choice not to postpone the event to focus today on the organisation of the Winter Geek Festival 2020, which will be held on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December 2020!”

According to the website of Summer Geek Festival, the 2021 edition of Summer Geek Festival will take place on 20 and 21 June at Lotto Mons Expo. The event is dedicated to the geek community with a focus on manga, video games, comics, TV series, science fiction films, Asian culture and board games. The first edition took place in 2018.

All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
