Indie rock band DYGL are returning to Europe for a tour for the first time in a long while. The tour kicks off on 14 June at the Best Kept Secret Festival in Hilvarenbeek. The band will also play two more shows in the Netherlands, at Paradiso and Rotown. Following these shows in the Netherlands, the quartet will head to France, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Czech Republic for club gigs. A total of 14 shows are scheduled for this European tour.
The four-piece band from Tokyo formed in 2012 and is known for producing music with raw energy, heartfelt lyrics and a sound that blends indie rock and 2000s garage rock. After releasing four albums, including their debut album, which made quite an impression, given that it was produced by Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes, they released their fifth album, Who’s in the House?. This album was released on vinyl earlier this year ahead of the start of their Australian tour. This year, the band released a number of digital singles, titled All tomorrows, NRG and De Nada, and it remains to be seen when a new album will be released.
The band has performed in Europe before; in 2018, they played in the United Kingdom and France. A year later, they were back in Europe for several shows, including a show in the Netherlands. They have also undertaken various tours of the United States and Asia, with appearances at the Fuji Rock Festival, Summer Sonic Festival and SXSW. Earlier this year, they came to Australia for the first time for a tour.
