Discover the many live videos produced by Remy’s in Okinawa

Remy’s is a live performance venue in Okinawa consisting of two floors and two stages. It has been the place to be for many musicians, locally and also from mainland Japan, but also outside Japan. Since the venue is located in a convenient location in Okinawa, it is a good location to bring various people with diverse backgrounds together. Remy’s has been very active in the local music scene and promotes independent artists, but also organises festivals.

For the observant viewers among us, especially the European ones, they might notice that some of the staff members look very familiar, especially the owner Remy. In 2019, the cyberpunk band HighTechLowLife and tour buddies FAKE ISLAND were touring through Europe with a couple of performances in the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Germany. The members of the first-mentioned band are all in a way connected with the live venue Remy’s. Currently the cyberpunk band has not been active for a while, but the focus seems to be on other things, especially the venue. Now that the pandemic has made many things difficult, especially in the live scene and for musicians, the venue has been livestreaming a few times but especially been putting out live videos of bands performing at Remy’s. Every week at least a couple of new live videos of high quality will be published on the YouTube channel of Remy’s. The videos are filmed and edited by the team of Remy’s themselves.

The last few weeks, the venue has been putting live videos out of music projects as Tamayura no Yoake (玉響の黎明), As Alliance, Musical Contact and The Red Blow, among others, which gives you a good example of the variety of bands that perform at Remy’s.

The YouTube channel of Remy’s only has 585 subscribers, at the time of writing, which is not a lot for the content that they have been putting out for more than a year. Since Remy’s supports and promotes independent artists, the chances are high that you haven’t heard some of these musical acts. Time to hit that subscribe button and discover some gems!

By the way, if you have missed out on the ero designs by Misako during the European tour of HighTechLowLife, they are still available through the shop of Remy’s. There are also other things to buy to support the venue and the artists.
