Announcement: AVO Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief to join HYPER JAPAN TV for live broadcast

On Wednesday 6th of January, there will be a new edition of HYPER JAPAN TV with Japanese music as the theme. During this live broadcast, HYPER JAPAN will share an interview they had with solo idol KOTO and they will have an interview with Francisca Hagen, Editor-in-Chief of AVO Magazine. That part of the live broadcast will be live and you will be able to send in your questions in the chat. The broadcast will start from 18.00 PM English Time (and 19.00 Dutch time) on the YouTube channel of HYPER JAPAN.

In December, the UK convention started with a new project on their YouTube channel under the name HYPER JAPAN TV. It is an online Japanese culture streaming show, which spans all sorts of Japanese popular and traditional culture. During such streams, they have live guests talking about their area of expertise or interest.

KOTO (Saito Kotono) started out in 2012 and was the former vocalist of the band kotofolic. Her debut as a singer was when she sang the theme song for SHAKE HANDS, a dance movie for kids. Her solo debut was in January 2014 with the song Kotolip, which reached number 20 on the Oricon list. Her upbeat and danceable music is clearly influenced by the 80s. She was confirmed to perform at HYPER JAPAN 2020 before the event was postponed to 2021.

AVO Magazine is a bilingual website based in the Netherlands that shares the love for Japanese (indie) music and culture. The magazine has organised several festivals and concerts, including AVO J-Music Festival in 2018 and several collaborations with European tour organisers.
