In March of this year, singer-songwriter Haru Nemuri completed the long-awaited album LOVETHEISM for the first time in two years, and planned a North American tour in March and a second European tour in June.
Although all the planned tours were postponed due COVID-19, the French label Specific Recordings released an analogue version of the new album and Haru Nemuri was presented as the first Japanese musician through Midem Talent Exporter, a special programme where up-and-coming artists from all over the world get the spotlight on them to boost their careers. This was supposed to take place in June of this year at the French annual music trade show Midem in Cannes. This was eventually realised through the digital edition of Midem.
With all of this, Haru Nemuri created a bond with the European country and thus wanted to respond on the second national lockdown of France by releasing the live performance video that was recorded especially for Midem Talent Exporter 2020. This video, that can be seen on YouTube, consists of a short performance of four songs, Fanfare, Trust Nothing but Love, Lovetheism and Riot.
In addition to making this exclusive video public, Haru Nemuri has also announced that she will do a free short live show again without spectators on her YouTube channel. She has given this show the name MICKEY FINN. The show will be on Saturday the 21st of November for the residents in the United States, this will be in the early Sunday morning in Europe, and early afternoon in Japan at 13.00 Japanese time.
Haru Nemuri has been working hard to make her work known in Japan and overseas, as the singing ultimate weapon. She did a European tour last year summer with mostly sold-out shows, but also toured in Asia. For the musician, it was a big deal to perform at Primavera Sound 2019, a large music festival with an attendance of around 175,000 people, while she is an independent artist. She also had plans to perform at South by Southwest (SXSW) and tour in the United States, earlier this year, but that had to be postponed. While the original plan was to do the postponed tour in September of this year, currently it is not known when it is possible for the musician to travel to the United States for a tour.
