After postponing the 25th edition of the Belgian metal festival Graspop Metal Meeting to 2021, the organisation has been working hard not to lose their previous efforts done for the metal festival. The festival this year was supposed the become a four-day XL edition for the history books, according to the organisation. The anticipation is now growing for June 2021.
Many festival organisations have been looking at the possibilities to arrange a regular festival in 2021. While some are a little more prudent in making announcements, Graspop Metal Meeting has announced the first 100+ names for the event planned for 17, 18, 19 and 20 June 2021. It is now with a focus to celebrate the 25th anniversary bigger. The headliners for the metal festival will be Aerosmith, Faith No More and Volbeat. Most of the already announced acts for 2020 will perform now on the 2021 edition.
Among those names, it seems that metalcore band CRYSTAL LAKE will still come to the metal festival in Belgium (on Friday) and Crossfaith is one of the new names added to the line-up, with a performance on Sunday. For CRYSTAL LAKE it will be the first time for them to perform at this festival.
For those with a good memory, remember that BABYMETAL was announced for the 2020 edition of Graspop (but also Rock im Park/am Ring and Hellfest) as part of their second European tour for the year. This tour was cancelled after the cancellations of all the festival dates due to the ongoing pandemic. At the moment it is not known if there are plans for BABYMETAL to return to Europe in the summer of 2021. But since Graspop Metal Meeting will announce more names in the near future, there is still a possibility that BABYMETAL will be added to the line-up.
The ticket sale for the metal festival will start later this year.
