Bad news, but expected, because the upcoming European tour of BABYMETAL, which would take place in June, has been cancelled. This was announced by BABYMETAL earlier today on their official website and social media. The tour, which would be part of the METAL GALAXY WORLD TOUR, consisted of many festival shows, in Germany, Belgium and France, and a number of headline shows in Poland, the Netherlands and Spain. The performances at the festivals, including Rock im Park/am Ring, Graspop Metal Meeting and Hellfest, were previously been cancelled due to the current situation around COVID-19 and the measures of the various governments to not allow (major) events to go ahead. As a result, little remained of the planned tour of BABYMETAL.
“After much consideration, we regret to announce that the upcoming European tour has been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. During times like these, the safety and protection of touring crew, fans, and everyone else around the world is an immediate priority.”
If you have purchased a ticket of one of the festival dates, you might have been informed already by the organisation of the festival, but if not, please check out the official website(s) of the festival(s). In the case of the headline shows, please get in contact with the live venue(s) to get your ticket refunded.
All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
