Experimental rock band OOIOO will not only perform at the Dutch festival Rewire, but will tour through Europe. The tour, organised by Belmont Bookings, will start on the first of April, in Groningen at Vera. The band will not fool around during this tour, because they will perform in Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the United Kingdom in addition to the two shows in The Netherlands.
Furthermore, the band has been confirmed for a show at Roskilde Festival 2020 in July. They will perform on 3 July. It will be their first show on Danish soil.
OOIOO (pronounced oh-oh-eye-oh-oh) was formed by Boredoms drummer and multi-instrumentalist Yoshimi Yokota (also known as YoshimiO) as a fake band for a magazine photoshoot in 1995. Yoshimi is a Japanese musician best known for her role as the longest consistent drummer in the Osaka rock band Boredoms. The four-piece are musicians who love to move freely between the audible and inaudible, rhythm and non-rhythm, noise and silence. After a six-year production hiatus, OOIOO returned in 2020 with their eighth studio album, Nijimusi.
