This is not a sponsored review and because of this I won’t mention where I bought this set, if you do an online search using the name of this kit you’ll be able to find this one in several webshops.
Heart – Oekaki Stick 3 – Simple
Price: ± €4
Extra supplies: Scissors, Spoon, Refrigerator, Microwave*, Heatproof Bowl or Cup
* Instead of melting the chocolate in the microwave you could heat it au bain-marie, with a heatproof glass bowl on top of a pan with a small layer of boiling water. Stir gently until all of the chocolate has melted.
This is already the third version of the Oekaki stick kit, I’ve reviewed the previous version as well find it here. With this kit you can create two cute chocolate lollipops, one round and one hexagon. You can use the red, yellow, green and blue chocolate candies included to create a pattern. This is the first version in which you create two chocolate lollipops, rather than one chocolate lollipop and one small chocolate. The sticks are a different colour this time around as well, green instead of pink like before. This version includes some new patterns, of course, and the ones you get are random. This kit does give you a bit more variety though, as each package contains two pattern options, of each two patterns, rather than one.
Flavour: ♥♥♥
These never disappoint me, they were just as delicious as I remembered them. Although I can’t be one hundred percent sure, the flavour seemed the same as before which is fine by me.
Creamy milk chocolate with some chocolate candies, covered in a colourful sugary outer shell to add a little bite. As I’ve mentioned before: I love the combination. If you’re a (Japanese) milk chocolate fan you will too.
Time needed: ⧗
Take as little or as much time as you’d like to create different patterns, you don’t have to follow the ones from the packaging. Creating patterns doesn’t have to take much time.
Difficulty level: ★
This is a very simple, straightforward, candy kit. The steps are easy and I can’t imagine much can go wrong, just don’t move the mould too fast so the candies don’t move around and wait for the chocolate to set fully before removing the chocolate from the refrigerator.
Similarity: ???
The end result is very similar to the picture on the packaging. The chocolate lollipops turned out pretty neat, although a little chocolate might seep past the candies a bit.
TIP: You can use a spoon to fill the mould, but if you’re afraid that’ll get messy you could use a piping bag or sandwich bag instead.
Want to enjoy this kit again?
Clean the mould with warm water, after using it, and let it air dry. Don’t use soap to clean the mould.
If you want to reuse the mould you could use any kind of chocolate or candy melts you’d like to use. You could replace the chocolate candies with sugar pearls or sprinkles, but you could also leave them out. The mould could of course also be used to make gummies or shape fondant if you want to use it for something like that.
