Singer-songwriter Eiko Ishibashi announced another European tour for 2019, this time she will tour in October and November. Part of the tour will be with percussionist and electro-acoustic performer Joe Talia and drummer Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, with shows at Week-end Fest in Cologne, Basel and Vienna, starting from 18 October. Solo, she will perform at Le Guess Who? in Utrecht, and Sonic City Festival in Kortrijk.
Eiko Ishibashi presented the tour dates earlier today on her official website and social media.
The tour dates are as follows:
Friday 18 October: Week-end Festival @ Stadthalle – Cologne, Germany
Friday 25 October: Klappfon – Basel, Switzerland
Sunday 27 October: Grillx – Vienna, Austria
Friday 1 November: KM28 – Berlin, Germany
Saturday 2 November: Hebbel am Ufer – Berlin, Germany
Sunday 3 November: Conne Island – Leipzig, Germany
Thursday 7 November: Le Guess Who? – Utrecht, The Netherlands
Friday 8 November: Sonic City Festival – Kortrijk, Belgium
Singer-songwriter Eiko Ishibashi can be described as a multi-instrumentalist whose work has ranged from acclaimed singer-songwriter albums to film scores for film and television to improvised music settings. She worked together with artists as wide-ranging as Keiji Haino, Charlemagne Palestine, Merzbow, Akira Sakata, John Duncan, Oren Ambarchi, and Jim O’Rourke. Her music spans from genres like classical, jazz and improvisation. Her latest solo album was The Dream My Bones Dream, that got published in November 2018. Eiko Ishibashi will perform on the Thursday of the festival.
Eiko Ishibashi’s last European tour was in May of this year, where she performed in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, Denmark and Belgium.
