Bandai – Pokémon 3D Jelly – Simple
Price: ± €2 for one of them
Extra supplies: Scissors, Spoon, Cup or Bowl, Plate
With this candy kit you can create a 3D Pokémon jelly figure. You get a random mould and a random Pokéball. There are four moulds available: Pikachu, Eevee, Zeraora and Mimikyu. I got Mimikyu! Which was exactly the one I was hoping for, so we’re off to a great start. There’s also different colours of jelly powder available but the process of making the 3D jelly is the same.
Flavour: ♥♥
The jelly, or at least the yellow jelly I got, tasted like lemon. It was more ‘crumbly’ in texture than you’d expect from jelly normally, but since it didn’t have to be heated or refrigerated I figured it’d be like that. I didn’t dislike the texture, since I’ve experienced similar jelly textures in a lot of Japanese candy kits I am used to it by now.
Time needed: ⧗
This kit doesn’t take a lot of time at all, you mix the jelly, pour it in and wait for 10 minutes before unmoulding. So it shouldn’t take much time.
Difficulty level: ★
Making the jelly is easy and there are very few steps, it’s hard to do anything wrong. The only thing that could go wrong is if you stir the jelly too long.
Similarity: ???
As you can see on the pictures below, the final product looks very similar to the packaging. It’s clearly not exactly the same as the packaging, but it is very similar and clearly how it’s intended to look.
TIP: Make sure you don’t stir for longer than 10 seconds, otherwise the jelly will harden too much.
Want to enjoy this kit again?
Clean the mould with warm water, after using it, and let it air dry. Don’t use soap to clean the mould.
If you want to reuse the mould you could make a new jelly, using a jelly package. Or make a chocolate, but make sure that the chocolate isn’t too hot otherwise it could melt the plastic.
