This is not a sponsored review and because of this I won’t mention where I bought this set, if you do an online search using the name of this kit you’ll be able to find this one in several webshops.
Heart – Gudetama Pudding version 2 – Simple
Price: ± €3 for one of them
Extra supplies: Milk, Small Measuring Cup, Scissors, Spoon, Cocktail Stick or Toothpick, Refrigerator, Microwave*, Heatproof Bowl or Cup
* Instead of melting the gelatine in the microwave you could heat it au bain-marie, with a heatproof glass bowl on top of a pan with a small layer of boiling water. Stir gently until all of the gelatine has melted.
With these two kits you create cute Gudetama puddings, this is a newer version of this kit. Kit A includes a mould for Gudetama in a star shape and Gudetama laying on his belly. Kit B’s mould has Gudetama in a heart shape and Gudetama laying on his back. These sets are sold separately.
Flavour: ♥♥♥
The flavours in this kit were familiar to me, since most of them seemed the same or at least very similar to the previous version of this kit. There was one new element to it, the ‘soy sauce’.
The ‘egg yolks’ seemed to be a little less firm than I remembered them being last time, but maybe I added a little too much milk. They had a creamy texture and a custard like flavour to them. The ‘egg white’ had a sweet vanilla flavour to it.
Custard pudding usually has caramel sauce on top of it and I think that’s what they wanted to add with the ‘soy sauce’. This tasted like caramel, but had a slight sort of minty flavour to it as well if you try it by itself. When combined with the pudding it just tastes of caramel.
Time needed: ⧗
Just like the previous version most of the time you’ll ‘spend’ on this kit is the waiting time, since the pudding has to set for about 2 to 3 hours in the refrigerator. Unmoulding the puddings and applying the sauce doesn’t take very long at all.
Difficulty level: ★
The kits are very easy to make, since you only need to add milk and it’s indicated how much milk you have to add. Make sure to be gently when you remove the puddings, loosen the sides with a toothpick first and then gently nudge the pudding out.
Similarity: ???
As you can see on the pictures below, the final product looks very similar to the packaging. The colours are slightly off, but it’s clearly the same product.
TIPS: Use a small measuring cup to pour the pudding mixture into the moulds.
You can use the toothpick or cocktail stick to drip the ‘soy sauce’ on top of the puddings.
Want to enjoy these kits again?
Clean the mould with warm water, after using it, and let it air dry. Don’t use soap to clean the mould.
If you want to reuse the mould you could make your own pudding or even something like chocolate. You could use yoghurt to replace the ‘egg white’ and a caramel sauce to replace the ‘soy sauce’.
