In late June and early July, singer-songwriter Nao Yoshioka will be in Europe for a number of shows. The musician is known for combining musical elements of classic soul, R&B and jazz, allowing her music to be seen as timeless and modern.
Her first European show for this summer is scheduled in Paris, where Yoshioka will perform as the opening act for Kyoto Jazz Massive. This group returned to European stages in 2022 after a 15-year absence and is now led by Shuya Okino and vocalist Vanessa Freeman. Nao Yoshioka will then perform at London’s The Jazz Cafe and finally to Utrecht for a performance TivoliVredenburg, or to be specific Club Nine, at the very top at a height of 47 metres.
Born in Osaka, Yoshioka grew up in a creative family, so she started exploring her artistic talents at an early age. Influenced by artists such as Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin, she began to develop her own style over the years. She has lived in the United States to focus on making music and has had the opportunity to perform at several major festivals. As recently as 2017, she had performed in the Netherlands. Her fourth album, Undeniable, was released in 2019, this was followed by the singles Tokyo 2020 and Wave.
