Tokyo based idol group QUEENS recently released a new live video, but this one provides a very different experience to those that they have released in the past. While nearing the culmination of their tour 推していいとも!(You Can Recommend It), the group took to a 4-sided LED studio to work with a VJ and produce a visual spectacle that really is something to behold.
Performing 6 songs over the course of about 24 minutes, a setlist that includes their newest song eccentric plus two other songs that were also debuted during the tour, the video provides a good mixture of their songs and choreography that will provide their existing fans with a new a fresh way to enjoy the music while also giving new fans a taste of what they are capable of.
Filmed from the front with a single camera, the video mixes various effects, colours and light intensity to match with the music as the group perform. It certainly adds a new dimension to their performance and, given the reactions from the members and the fans, it may be something that they will repeat in the future or perhaps incorporate into their live performances.
2021 has been a busy year for the group, who celebrated their 3rd anniversary earlier in the year. The mini-album, Headshot, was released in March and with new songs being debuted during the recent tour, plus the recent reveal of their new stage clothes and the release of this video, it seems that they are not letting the difficulties that COVID-19 has brought. In fact, it seems that they are more determined and ambitious. Perhaps the best is yet to come.
WARNING! – The video contains strobing light effects, please do not watch if you suffer from photosensitive epilepsy or similar disorders.
