This is not a sponsored review and because of this I won’t mention where I bought this set, if you do an online search using the name of this kit you’ll be able to find this one in several webshops.
Heart – Oryouri Ton Ton Gummy – Simple
Price: ± €6 for one of them
Extra supplies: Water, Scissors, Spoon, Refrigerator, Microwave*, Heatproof Bowl or Cup
* Instead of melting the gelatine in the microwave you could heat it au bain-marie, with a heatproof glass bowl on top of a pan with a small layer of boiling water. Stir gently until all of the gelatine has melted.
With these two kits you create cute food shaped gummies. Kit A includes a mould for a Japanese hamburger steak, a strawberry, a tomato and a green bell pepper. Kit B’s mould has a steak, a cherry, a tangerine and a cabbage. Both kits include a carrot and a fish. These sets are sold separately.

Flavour: ♥
The packaging indicates that the red gummies are supposed to taste like peach and the green ones are supposed to taste like melon. Personally I didn’t recognize these flavours at all, but the gummies have a very faint flavour, almost only an aftertaste. I didn’t taste much while I was chewing the gummies.
The red gummies, to me, tasted a bit like red fruit and the green tasted a little like lime. The brown, which is a combination of the two, tasted fruity.
When it comes to texture the gummies seemed to be in between regular gummies and jelly, not as soft as jelly but not as firm as gummies usually are either.
Time needed: ⧗
Any time you spend on these kits is mainly waiting time, aside from the fun time you spend chopping everything up and eating the gummies. The gummies need to set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Difficulty level: ★
The kits are very easy to make, there isn’t much that can go wrong, and the gummies are very easy to cut into as well. Removing the gummies from the mould is pretty easy, just be gentle with the smaller more fragile parts.
Similarity: ?
As you can see on the pictures below, the final product looks very similar to the packaging. Clearly the images on the packaging are not exactly the same, but they do indicate what the product ends up looking like very accurately.
TIPS: Use a spoon to fill the mould, don’t pour it in directly from the bowl or cup you’re using or it’ll easily overflow.
If you let it sit on your work surface for a few minutes before refrigerating they’ll be a little less fluid already and it’ll be easier to place in the refrigerator without spilling.
Want to enjoy these kits again?
Clean the mould with warm water, after using it, and let it air dry. Don’t use soap to clean the mould.
If you want to reuse the mould you could make your own gummies or use a jelly package and add a lot less water than the instructions say. You can use food colouring to get the right colours, or to create different colours than this kit has.
