Following their European tour last year, the rock duo Moja seem to have developed a taste for it. The pair will be returning in June, kicking things off at the Oerol site-specific arts festival on the Wadden Sea island of Terschelling. They also have various other festival appearances and club shows lined up across six countries.
Active since 2007, the duo consists of bassist/vocalist Haru and drummer Masumi; their sound is described as rock with core elements of distortion, rhythm and chemistry, creating a wall of sound that is both aggressive and hypnotic.
Over the years, the band Moja (stylised as moja) have released several albums and singles and performed all over the world, including at festivals such as SXSW, the Tallinn Music Festival, Left of the Dial, and the Stepping Stone Festival. Last year, they joined forces with THE MOLICE to launch a new project, MO. Under this name, they released their first track last summer, available exclusively on vinyl. In the meantime, they have been hard at work on their own release, which came out on 26 September 2025: the album I’m Hungry !!, on which they channel the energy of a DIY ethos through noise-rock.
