Anisong vocalist Hironobu Kageyama will be performing at the first edition of Japan Fes, which is set to take place on 13 and 14 April at Kapermolenpark in the city of Hasselt in Belgium. While it is the first time the Japanese culture event will take place, it will also be the first time for the anisong vocalist to perform in Belgium.

With a career spanning over four decades, Hironobu Kageyama has established himself as a versatile artist, contributing not only as a vocalist but also as a songwriter, composer, and producer. His influence extends beyond his solo endeavours, as he is also the leader of the anisong supergroup JAM Project. In addition, he is best known for the theme songs for anime series as Dragon Ball Z (CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA) and Saint Seiya (Soldier Dream), but also provided music for several video game and tokusatsu soundtracks.

In addition to Hironobu Kageyama’s performances on both days, Japan Fes will feature a variety of stage events, such as taiko, cosplay competitions, and karaoke, but also cultural workshops and food vendors, giving visitors a great introduction to and immersion in Japanese culture and entertainment. Another special guest on the first edition of Japan Fes is Dutch YouTuber Ella Freya, who is known for her travels across Japan, her passion for Japanese cuisine and also known as the face model for Ashley in the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The event is organised by J-NEXT SAS in collaboration with the city of Hasselt and supported by the Osaka Tourism Bureau. Ticket sare available online and you can choose a ticket for the festival only or a combi ticket where you can also visit the Japanese Garden of Hasselt, which is if all goes well still has blooming cherry blossoms. More information can be found on the official website of Japan Fes.
