The space-rock trio Dhidalah will soon return on European soil for another tour with their new full-length studio album in their back pocket. The European tour will take place in May and consists of 9 shows in four countries, with a focus on shows in the United Kingdom.
The performance at Desertfest Berlin was already announced in 2020, but due to the pandemic, this all had to be put on the backburner for a few years.
Currently comprised of guitarist Ikuma Kawabe (ex-Church of Misery), bassist and vocalist Kazu Gotoh and drummer Robin (ex-Minami Deutsch), the band originally started out as an instrumental heavy psych trio. While Ikuma Kawabe was playing as a guitarist for the band Church of Misery, the trio discovered a connection between music from different genres. Their sound reveals that connection, which is often described as space krautrock meets heavy doom. The group’s name comes from the mythological giant Daidarabotchi, which was believed to create mountains and land with its enormous size, much like Dhidalah’s sound.
The label Guruguru Brain shared that there will be more news coming soon. If this is related to the tour or something else related to this band or another band related to the label, is unknown. Keep an eye out, that is the advice for today.
