The dates for the 2022 edition of the Amsterdam-based Film Festival CinemAsia are announced, which is planned to take place in May from Tuesday 10 to Sunday 15. The locations for the upcoming edition are Studio/K, Rialto De Pijp and Rialto VU. Earlier this year, the organisation shared the news that they were working hard on the 2022 edition, but that the event would not take place in March. Now the dates 10 to 15 May can be put in the (digital) calendar.
After the cancellation of the 2021 edition of the CinemAsia Film Festival and losing a 4-year structural subsidy, the organisation decided to start a crowdfunding campaign to stay afloat. This became a big success which is the reason why the 2022 edition is currently in the works. It is still possible to donate via the website Voordekunst.nl.
The film festival has been introducing Asian films in The Netherlands for almost 20 years.
