There has been a lot of news surrounding the band KUUNATIC lately, time to put it in order.

Swamp Booking announced the addition of tribal-psych trio KUUNATIC to their tour roster. Since the drummer of the band, Yuko Araki, can be found on the same roster as a solo artist, it seemed to be a very logical step for the band. The German booking agency further announced the band’s upcoming European tour, planned for the late spring of 2022.

This was not all for the trio, since the band will be releasing a new album, titled Gate of Klüna, on the 29th of October through Glitterbeat Records. This was announced last month in conjunction with the confirmation that the band has joined the independent label.

To top it all off, the music video for the first single through this label has been premiered earlier today, titled Tītián. KUUNATIC shared the description of the song: “The harvesting time of rich yields on planet Kuurandia. Green and golden fields. The sun, rain, wind and the moon. This peaceful tale will last forever, or……”. The single can be found on major streaming services, such as Spotify, but also Bandcamp, Apple Music and more. Before the release of this album, the band will release two more singles.

KUUNATIC have toured Europe a couple of times since their formation in 2016. The Tokyo-based band consists of members with all completely different musical and cultural backgrounds. They integrate traditional Japanese music, Latin music, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, dub music, horror film soundtrack music etc and expresses their outlandish world. Topping with 3-female vocals, they make listeners trip into their ritual translunary land. Their first EP was titled KUURANDIA, released in late 2017 and followed up by a split 7″ single with Taiwanese fuzz psych garage band CROCODELIA. Gate of Klüna is KUUNATIC’s much-awaited debut album. KUUNATIC are Fumie Kikuchi on keys and vocals, Yuko Araki on drums and vocals and Shoko Yoshida on bass and vocals.

As shared before on AVO Magazine, Yuko Araki’s European tour with visual artist Daisy Dickinson is still planned for this fall, more information can be found here.
