The first European tour of all-female power metal band Aldious is cancelled. This was announced by UK-based tour organisation ORION Live. The tour was planned to take place in October, with shows in London, Paris and Berlin.
In a message on social media, ORION Live shared: “We regret to announce that due to circumstances within the band and issues beyond our control, the Aldious UK/EU performances have been cancelled. Refunds available from venue or site of purchase.”
While the specific reasons for the cancellation have not been shared, there was recently news of vocalist R!N deciding to leave the band, after being hospitalised due to depression. This means that the band is currently without a permanent singer.
The fans of the band have been waiting for the band’s arrival to Europe for a while. The European tour was officially announced more than one year ago, in March of 2020. But that changed with two postponements of the European tour, announced in August 2020 and again in January 2021 due to the pandemic. It is quite a blow for the band and the organisations behind the tour that the tour ended up being cancelled. Especially with the knowledge that the band was able to produce their first album in three years with R!N, who joined the band a couple of years back. It is to be hoped that Aldious will eventually get a chance to tour Europe in the near future.
ORION Live shared a hopeful message: “We know the news is disappointing, but we’ll stay positive and we’re looking forward to welcoming Aldious in the future. When the time is right, we’ll be here.” Elsewhere, they say in response to a tweet: “When Aldious is ready in the future, we’ll be ready too”.
