With a band name as the twenties, you might get the wrong idea that the band is maybe focusing in theme on The Roaring Twenties. Nothing could be further from the truth, since this is the name of an extravagant rock band with danceable vibes originally from Oita and currently active in Tokyo. But it may have been a harbinger for the current 20s, even though the band has been around for over 10 years.
Currently unable to perform in front of an audience, the band put out a live video of their performance at Shibuya Milkyway in May that was done without an audience. In total, the video consists of four songs with an avant-garde sound, such as the catchy sing-along 2 0 1 that can be found back on their first album GLIMMER, that was released in November 2017.
For those who haven’t been able to see the twenties live at all, this 15-minute video gives you an insight into how groovy their performances can be. With the help of the non-steady camera work of Afghan RAY, the footage gives you the feeling that you are enjoying the performance by yourself in person.
In April, the rock band put out a video of their unreleased song LIFE WILL SEE YOU NOW, which will be recorded for their next album, filmed by each band member, Ryo Takai on vocals and guitar, Yasai-kun on bass, Hiroyuki Uruma on guitar and Anii (Anthony) Dinosaur on the drums, at their homes. The message they shared with this video was: “Until we meet again at the live house, please live well”.
Keep an eye on the activities of the twenties by following them on Twitter, their official website and YouTube channel.
