MEX, Manga & Entertainment Expo, a convention in Berlin that was planned for 23, 24 and 25 October, has been postponed due to the measures taken by the local authorities to ban all major events until the 24th of October. This means that the organisation behind MEX has no other choice to postponed the event until October 2021.
The organisation stated in a message shared on their website and social media: “We didn’t make this decision easy for ourselves and played through alternatives, but every project needs a secure planning and we simply don’t see this in the realm of possibility with the currently constantly changing rules and regulations.”
Tickets purchased for the 2020 edition will stay valid for the edition in 2021. When that exactly will take place will be announced at a later date. It is also possible to return the ticket and get a refund. More information can be found on the website.
MEX is a new convention that saw the light of day in 2019 and is formed through a collaboration between the conventions AniMaCo and MMC Berlin. The 2020 edition was supposed to be the first edition after the two conventions joined forces.
All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
