Celebrating AVO’s 17th anniversary with a special AVO Magazine Podcast

AVO Magazine has started a new project, a podcast, on the day of AVO’s 17th anniversary. In the first (pilot) episode of AVO Magazine Podcast, editor-in-chief Francisca Hagen talks about the start of AVO as a forum and later on a web magazine, that was named AVO Magazine. In a bit more than 10 minutes you will get acquainted a bit more with AVO and the person who started it all. The podcast is uploaded on YouTube, if you are interested to listen to the podcast on the way, listen to the podcast through Soundcloud.

Happy 17th anniversary

AVO started on 16 May 2003 as a forum and in 2012 a web magazine was started. AVO Magazine is more than just a normal online magazine about Japanese music and culture. In addition to informing the reader about the various Japan-related events, sharing reviews of music, books, films and more, AVO supports various Japan-related events in Europe, but also does the organisation thereof. In the past, AVO has been able to organise various concerts and festivals (AVO J-Rock festival in 2013 and AVO J-Music Festival in 2018) in which various Japanese (indie) musicians were allowed to enter the stage to introduce themselves under the denominator AVO Magazine presents. More information about AVO Magazine can be read on the About Us page.
