One of the oldest art fairs for modern and contemporary art in the world, KunstRAI or for English speakers better known as Art Amsterdam, will focus this year on the country Japan.
During the 36th edition of the KunstRAI, taking place from 29 April until 3 May 2020, 80 galleries will present their collection in paintings, sculptures, photography and design and jewellery.
Every year the KunstRAI/Art Amsterdam invites galleries from a certain city, region or country to present their art and culture. After the interesting presentations from Berlin, Antwerp and Barcelona, this year it will be galleries from Japan that will surprise the Dutch public. Seven galleries from different cities in Japan will show their collection on the ‘Focus Japan‘ square. This presentation is organised in cooperation with YOD Gallery in Osaka, which also participated in the fair last year.
In addition, there will be other backstage programmes during KunstRAI such as the Sluijters Prize and Jeanne Oosting Prizes.
The KunstRAI 2020 will be officially opened by the Japanese Ambassador to the Netherlands, His Excellency Mr. Hidehisa Horinouchi
