This is not a sponsored review and because of this, I won’t mention where I bought this set, if you do an online search using the name of this kit you’ll be able to find this one in several webshops.

Heart – Fumo Fumo Nikukyu & Neko Sweets – Simple
Price:
± €3 for one of them
Extra supplies: Milk, Cooking Oil, Cocktail Pick or Skewer, Scissors, Spoon, Pastry Brush, Microwave, Bowl or Cup

With this kit, you create two kinds of cakes, a cat paw and a cat. You can create four little cakes in total, per box. There are two versions of this kit available, whichever you’ve got is indicated on the outside by an A or a B. The difference between the two is in the cat cake shape, it either has its paws up or not. This kit reminded me a lot of the Shin-chan cake candy kit.

Flavour: ♥♥
The cake is fluffy and has a vanilla flavour to it, it is a little dry but it still tasted nice. I especially enjoyed it when combined with the strawberry sauce.

I loved the flavour of the strawberry sauce, it really added some flavour and a little bit of sweetness to the cakes.

Time needed: ⧗
There aren’t a lot of steps to this kit, it doesn’t take up much time.

Difficulty level: ★★
Although the steps seem simple I did mess up a little with this candy kit. If you don’t pay enough attention to removing air bubbles the cats don’t turn out as well as you’d probably like. Apart from that, the strawberry sauce was very runny, which made it almost impossible to decorate.

Similarity: ?
As you can see the end result is similar to the picture on the box, but not entirely the same. The shape of the cats aren’t right and the strawberry sauce doesn’t stay on neatly.

TIPS: Make sure you remove excess oil with a paper towel and use a cocktail pick to trace the mould while the batter has not been cooked yet. Also, make sure to tap the mould a few times to release air bubbles.

If you want a less runny strawberry sauce you could mix it with some powdered sugar and use a piping bag to pipe it on.

Want to enjoy these kits again?

Clean the mould with warm water and soap, after using it, and let it air dry.

If you want to reuse the mould you could fill it with some cake batter and use it in the microwave. Or you could use it to shape fondant for instance.
