On 9 October, the Visual Kei band Sioux released a new music video for the new maxi-single cloud nine: Beyond. Time for a new review about this band.
The track Beyond starts with atmospheric images of the sea, a bottle in the sand that is flooded by a wave of water. The song starts with a noise and then the instruments start. After a minute the vocals start, which causes a nice overflow in Beyond. In the music video, you mainly see the singer who sings and the band members who are playing their instruments. The band members also move very elegantly in the video. In Beyond the emphasis is on the natural environment where the band is located. There is not much story in the images itself, but there is a kind of story. The singer Kaname. comes the previously mentioned bottle and keeps the bottle up high. Later we see an image of a woman standing by the sea, with her back turned. This gives the idea that it is on the other side of the sea. Maybe that is why the title is Beyond.
Beyond is a rather calm song, but instrumentally it has a good tempo. The guitar, bass and drums fit very well as a whole and sound precisely good. The vocal voice of the singer fits nicely in this song. Also, the guitar solo is tight and the overflow to the guitar solo and back to the song is well put together. After that, it sounds like the previous choruses, even though that does not make the song monotonous.
The movements in the images have been beautifully filmed and finished. It also falls immediately on the colours are almost gone, and that the beach looks very light and that gives a very nice contrast between their black clothes. Sometimes the background seems somewhat overexposed, but somewhere it has something special. The images also alternate enough where it remains fascinating to keep looking at the video since the song is almost four and a half minutes.
All in all, Sioux has released a very nice video. The band has been working hard since 2016, with Beyond Sioux shows that they are instrumentally stronger.
