In September, Cornelius, the stage name of Keigo Oyamada, will continue his world tour with shows in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, after which he will continue the tour in the United States. Earlier in the year, he performed in China with shows in Shanghai and Beijing, as well as in his his homeland Japan, in Tokyo and Kyoto.
The world tour is named after his most recent album, Dream In Dream, his first album in six years, released in 2023. In addition to all this, this tour also celebrates the musician’s 30th anniversary of starting his solo career. Cornelius is considered a pioneer of the Shibuya-kei music style, partly because he was a founding member of the influential Shibuya-kei duo Flipper’s Guitar. Shibuya-kei is best described as a music genre that mixes pop, jazz and electronic music, among others. When the duo broke up in the early 1990s, the multi-instrumentalist decided to launch his solo career. To date, he has released seven albums and has collaborated with numerous artists.
