After releasing 7 digital singles in 2020, rock band BRATS released their latest single, titled Forget Me Not, the final new song to emerge from their upcoming second album Karma. With this latest release, it is a fact that the band has been releasing 8 digital singles in 8 consecutive months and that was very welcome in these in the extraordinary strange times in which we’re currently living in. But it is also a good example of a band that does not want to stand idly by and want to work hard to make headway worldwide.
For their fans outside Japan, they shared the translation of the lyrics in the description of their music video, which gives you a better idea of the emotion that the vocalist Rei Kuromiya wants to convey in a heavy but melodic song. In the chorus, it first seems that Rei is singing that ‘we’ have to forget her, but soon she adds the three-letter word that makes directly clear what the message is supposed to be. Overall the lyrics are strong and raw and perfectly embraced by the roaring guitars and drums which is cause for a rush of high energy. The music video seemed to be set up in a basement, decorated with some tapestries, crosses and variety of lights to further corroborate the rawness of the song.
The song is the first track to premiere on several streaming services before being performed live by BRATS. The album, Karma, will be released on 30th of September in four versions.
