10th edition of Salón del Manga y Cultura Japonesa de Alicante postponed again

Salón del Manga y Cultura Japonesa de Alicante, a Spanish manga and Japanese culture fair in Alicante, announced earlier today that they will postpone the 10th edition of the event. A new date has not been announced. Originally, the fair would take place in March, but had moved the event to the end of June. With the current situation around COVID-19, it looks like June is still too early to organise an event in Spain.

Visual Kei rock band MUCC was announced to perform on this event, which was an event planned apart from their European tour that has been cancelled in earlier.

In a message on the social media of the event, it was mentioned that they were forced, for responsibility and safety reasons, to postpone the celebration of the event indefinitely. “After observing the evolution of the pandemic and the de-escalation process in our province, we believe that a context with greater certainty is necessary and that guarantees the safety of all the people who attend and collaborate in the event. We hope for your understanding.”

The organisation behind Salón del Manga y Cultura Japonesa de Alicante has the intention to organise the event in 2020 and will announce more information at a later date. In the meantime, they keep an eye on the developments of the situation. For now, it is a fact that the event will not take place on 27 and 28 June 2020.

All changes of Japan-related events and events where Japanese musicians are planned to perform are compiled in a list that you can find here. This list will be regularly updated.
