Shortly before the start of Abunai! 2017, a few conventions announced that they will organize a new edition. YayCon came with the announcement that they will announce the date and theme during Abunai! This time lovers of yaoi and yuri don’t have to wait two years for a new edition.
Saturday the organization made public that the new edition will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2018, with the theme Let’s get physical! The location for the eighth edition will be the same, namely ICOONtheater in Amersfoort. The focal point of the theme will be sports anime and its widespread shipping, but also the ‘getting physical’ part. In the upcoming months, the convention will announce new information and events. YaYCon is a convention that explores gender and sexuality in Japanese popular culture. At the convention, you will find a wide range of events, many of which are also suitable for mainstream anime and manga fans.
