Psychedelic rock band Tō Yō will soon hit the European road for a tour and will be on the road for about a month. The European tour will kick off on 9 October in Switzerland and will take the band through a total of ten countries. The band just released their album Yardang via EXAG’ Records, three years after their first album, Stray Birds From the Far East.
This isn’t the first time they’ve been to Europe; last summer they performed at various venues in Germany, Portugal and Spain, including the Woodstock Forever Festival in Germany. The year before that, they had also toured Europe, with performances at Freak Valley Festival and Oerol Festival.
While having influences such as Far East Family Band, J. A. Seazer and Jimi Hendrix, the band skilfully navigates a range of musical genres, all presented with a psychedelic twist. They are also known for their love of experimenting on stage, drawing major inspiration from Tokyo’s chaotic underground music scene.
