In July, mpi, Diana Garnet and Kota Shinzato, three anisong singers, will be coming to Germany for several performances as part of Summer of Japanese Music 2026, organised by the German online radio station AnimeRadio.de. In addition to performances at Anime Messe Babelsberg in Potsdam, which is affiliated with the online radio station, the vocalists will also give two club shows in Hanover and Cologne.
The vocalists are known for their musical contributions to major anime productions, such as Solo Leveling, Attack on Titan, One Piece and Naruto Shippuden, to name a few. The vocalist mpi, short for Music Pro Inc, is described as a versatile singer and lyricist who has been creating music for anime series, as well as drama series, for over ten years. He is known for his long-standing collaboration with Hiroyuki Sawano. After living in New York for several years, mpi decided to work as a translator and write English song lyrics before eventually entering the Japanese music industry.
Diana Garnet is an American artist based in Japan who signed with Sony Music Records in 2013. After releasing a cover album, she began contributing songs to various anime series and video games. She is also a voice actress, has appeared as a guest on various TV and radio programmes, and has presented her own programmes on NHK ETV and NHK Radio. She is now also active as a VTuber under the name Lumin Tsukiboshi.
The singer and actor Kota Shinzato made his official debut in 2013 with Hands Up!, which became the sixteenth opening theme for One Piece. He received the Japan Record Award for Best New Artist for this song. In addition to his musical work, he has also appeared in musical theatre productions such as Romeo & Juliet and Fate/Grand Order THE STAGE.
The tour kicks off on 16 July with a club show in Hanover, followed by a weekend of performances and autograph sessions at Anime Messe Babelsberg. The tour finale will take place on 21 July at Garagen Club in Cologne. As well as a performance, the club shows also offer the chance to meet the musicians at a meet-and-greet, where fans can go on stage early, have merchandise signed and receive a special tour poster.
