The orange colour also comes back in the piano and the top that Hiromi Uehara is wearing, making it a bright picture.

Japanese pianist and jazz composer Hiromi Uehara has been busy with performances all over the world, especially since she and her band Hiromi’s Sonicwonder released a new album, titled OUT THERE. This coming November, the Japanese musician and her band Hiromi’s Sonicwonder will return to Europe for several performances.

Starting in the Netherlands with three shows in Eindhoven, Groningen, and The Hague, the tour will continue in Spain, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, France and the United Kingdom. After this European tour, Hiromi’s Sonicwonder will perform several shows in China, before ending the year in Japan with an extensive tour.

Uehara began her piano studies at a young age, quickly demonstrating her exceptional talent. At 17, she was invited by Chick Corea to perform with him at a concert in Tokyo; the two later collaborated on the album Duet. In 1999, Hiromi entered Berklee College of Music in Boston. During this study, she was signed to the prestigious jazz label Telarc and made her international debut in 2003 with the album Another Mind.

If you watched the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, in 2021, you surely noticed Hiromi Uehara’s performance. The music Hiromi produces blends various genres, including classical, rock, fusion, funk, and post-bop with jazz, creating a unique and energetic style. In October of 2023, Hiromi released her twelfth studio album Sonicwonderland, showcasing her skills on the analogue synthesiser and electric piano, in addition to the piano. This album was followed up by the album OUT THERE in April of this year. The musicians in Hiromi’s Sonicwonder are Hiromi Uehara on piano and keyboard, Adam O’Farrill on trumpet, Gene Coye on drums, and Hadrien Feraud on bass.
