In April, Okinawa-based pop-rock band Seven Oops (stylised as seven oops) will head to Europe for their first tour. The band will stop in six cities, including Paris, Toulon, Helsinki, Amsterdam, London, and Cologne. In Toulon, the three-piece will be present at Mang’Azur.

Formed in 2004, the pop-rock band consists of singer Nanae, bassist Keita, and drummer Maiko. The band’s name was inspired by the singer’s name; previously, the band operated under the name 7!!!, as the number seven is ‘nana’ in Japanese. Their debut came in 2011 with the single Fallin’ Love, which was used as the theme song for the film High School Debut (俏妞出招, Koukou Debut). However, the band gained real fame thanks to their anime songs, for Naruto Shippuden and Your Lie in April, among others. Eventually, the band produced music for even more films, anime and drama series.

After a three-year break, the three-member band returned with new music in 2023 and celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2024. In the same year, the band released their sixth album, titled SEVEN POPS, with music videos for all 11 songs being crowdfunded and published on YouTube.

Recently, the band released a digital single to mark Seven Oops’ 20th anniversary. The song, 喝采 (Kassai), was written by bassist Keita and deals with the themes of life and death, inspired by the loss of a loved one who has been a great support to the band. The music video also features contributions from former members and family members of the band.
