Akane Sakuramori and Saito Houjo, high school students and classmates, have gotten married! The only problem being, they are rivals and can’t seem to get along at all. What will their newlywed life bring?
Recommended by Yuki:
Although teens getting married is a bit weird, or a lot weird in my opinion, this does seem like the premise for a fun and mostly funny anime series! I bet there will be a lot of light-hearted comedy in this series, along with some cutesy romantic moments.

Tsukasa Akeuraji aimed to make it big in the figure skating world however due to starting too late he had no choice but to end up as an ice dancer. Several years passed where he was content with his current lifestyle but everything changed when he met a young girl that reminded him of himself. A girl so desperate to skate that she practiced in secret. Sadly everyone around Inori Yuitsuka told her it was too late to get started and that catching up to other ice skaters would be impossible.
With rekindled passion to help out another ice skater in the same shoes that he was once in, Tsukasa decides to coach her and turn Inori into a medalist.
Recommended by Lecros:
Thanks to a friend’s recommendation I ended up watching Yuri on Ice and was surprised by how interesting the world of figure skating really is. The manga behind Medalist has had a really good reception and even won some awards which makes me really curious to see what another author has cooked up.
Aside from the figure skating theme, Medalist also has a strong emphasis on the fact that many people struggle with the fear of: “Starting too late” with any kind of hobby. Although it’s a real issue with getting to the highest level of your interest it would be a waste to never start with something just because you feel like you are too late. Hopefully Medalist’s story will give some extra motivation to people who have been struggling with this issue but even without that it still seems like a very interesting sports anime!

Recommended by Yuki:
Definitely lots of potential for a cute, and hilarious, anime series filled with almost getting caught and adorable secret loving glances. If you’re a fan of an adult cast and romance anime, be sure to check this one out!

In a fantasy world where people can awaken to a special power after eating a skill fruit. It might come as no surprise that these skills can be defining for someone’s future as it can be hard to become an adventurer without a matching skill. Sadly people can only eat one skill fruit in their lifetime as eating a second one will poison their body.
Our hero Light has always wanted to be an adventurer together and even pulled his childhood friend along with his dream. Sadly when it came to it he awakened to the Fruitmaster skill while his childhood friend awakened to the Sword Saint skill which is highly sought after by the adventurer association. As such she gets put on a different path than our hero who gets forced to focus on farming. After adapting to his new lifestyle he eats a second Skill Fruit by accident however instead of succumbing to the poison he manages to awaken to a second skill! Finally armed with a combat skill he can once again resume his journey to become an adventurer and hopefully get reacquainted with his childhood friend.

Isekai have become a huge journey and we watch the shows for many different reasons. Shows like this one are fun to watch because you can enjoy the creativity of the author where skills get used to different capacities and the hero gets to combine skills to bring them to new heights. Where this show gets interesting specifically is that the hero doesn’t go on a journey to become an S-Rank adventurer but instead he gets shunned by the Adventurer’s guild. This sets him and his companions on a journey to figure out what is going on in the dark crevices of the organization. At the same time it’s a nice little power fantasy that you can easily get back into even if you haven’t watched or read it in a while.

Even after all of the tumultuous adventures of season 1 the Inner Palace still isn’t completely safe from poisonous substances as in any political environment danger lurks around every corner. Once again it’s up to MaoMao, our knowledgeable Apothecary, to prevent people from being harmed or to figure out what happened. This is especially true since consort Gyokuyou needs to stay safe during her pregnancy.
Recommended by Lecros:
It can often take a while for a second season to be released and this is luckily not the case for Kusuriya since there is plenty of source material in the form of the light novel. This show has been a delight to watch in the first season as we have a very knowledgeable heroine that doesn’t come without her own faults as she was clearly struggling in the inner palace in the beginning. She deals with mysteries surrounding poison and dangerous substances and managed to become a trusted aid to Jinshi-sama and I can’t wait to see how the politics of the inner palace further evolve especially since lady Gyokuyou is pregnant. In the end producing heirs to the royal family is the whole purpose of the inner palace and the power of the families involved in this process can change based on their ability to produce an heir. Luckily MaoMao is no stranger when it comes to harmful substances and will do her best to keep lady Gyokuyou safe.

No one wants their 17th birthday to pass by without so much as a ‘happy birthday’, but that’s what’s happened to Mizuha. Her parents forgot her birthday and the person she likes doesn’t like her. But her long-time childhood friend asks her out, leaving Mizuha to sort out what this would mean for their relationship. And maybe someone else’s feelings are changing too..
Recommended by Yuki:
Although one of the genres is drama, I hope this series will be light on it and mainly focus on the cutesy love-story unravelling as Mizuha’s life takes a turn for the better. I hope it’ll include some comedy surrounding the heavier subjects.

Ore dake Level Up na Ken Season 2: Arise from the Shadow (俺だけレベルアップな件 Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-)
Type: Anime
Studio: A-1 Pictures
Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Based on the manhwa “Solo Leveling” by Chugong, Sung-rak Jang & Disciples.
Starts airing: January 2025
Number of Episodes: Unknown
Jinwoo Sung’s second awakening has given him the chance to turn his life around but it didn’t come for free. Several dangerous challenges have crossed his path and allowed him to grow miles beyond his initial rank. If he wants to save his mother from the Eternal Sleep disease he will have to keep training his abilities as only the ingredients obtained from the tower can help him make the cure.
At the end of last season he managed to let his fallen foes rise again as shadow soldiers but what does this mean for him? Can such power truly be obtained for free or is there something more ominous lurking behind this ability.
Recommended by Lecros:
Even though the story behind Solo Leveling seems like a classic shounen power fantasy, the pacing, animation, sound effects and world behind it just managed to keep me on the edge of my seat when I originally read the webtoon and the first season of the anime managed to do so once again. After watching the trailer for season 2 the animation and fights seem to keep the same level of quality while enlarging the scale of the fights as Jinwoo Sung does not have to fight by himself anymore. While Jinwoo’s journey from a powerless hunter to a battle-hardened hero was a lot of fun, his story truly starts after obtaining the shadow warriors and as such I’m excited to continue his story with the second season!
