Recommended by PHX:
Love between a person and a machine has been covered many times, however the situation of a guy who only works falling for his robotic helper seems like it could provide some heart-warming yet also comedic moments, how will they explain their relationship to people outside, will they know she is a robot? From the studio behind Girlfriend Girlfriend and The Café Terrace & Its Goddesses, this could be a nice summer love story.

Ruby being obsessed with restoring her mom’s legacy as an Idol Group and Aqua who wishes to figure out who was behind his mom’s death by entering the industry himself.
The show helps viewers get a view of the Japanese Idol and Acting Industry while following an engaging mystery on the sidelines.
Recommended by Lecros:
Oshi no Ko is one of the shows that generated a huge amount of hype when it came out last year. But unlike shows with combat that are generally popular this one showed off Idol culture. Personally this premise did not interest me too much so I missed out on it at first. The first episode being a lot longer than normal (1 hour and 20 minutes) did not help either. After giving it a fair go with the first episode it turned into a marathon where I binge watched the whole season at once. I kept wanting to know more about the secret behind what happened to Ai Hoshino and how Aqua would get further ahead with acting. Over time the story also engaged me with Ruby’s journey of becoming an idol and reviving her oshi’s legacy, the idol group B-Komachi and now with Season 2 around the corner I can’t wait to get back into it and hear about what’s to come!

As Mao starts to see Hisashi as the delinquent love interest of the class president, in their movie, he starts to become overly conscious of Hisashi’s presence. It gets harder and harder for Mao to deny the fact that he’s developing feelings for his roommate.
Recommended by Yuki:
I was glad to see a shounen ai anime planned for the upcoming season. The style of the anime seems to differ a bit from the manga, of which I’ve only seen a few covers, but it is still recognizable. The overall plot sounds like the perfect set up for a sweet romance between the two main characters. Get ready for some, hopefully, cute moments as Mao learns to accept, and confess, his feelings for his roommate!
Gimai Seikatsu (義妹生活)
Type: Anime
Studio: Studio Deen

Yuuta and Saki are brought together as step siblings when their parents remarry. The pair decide to maintain a balanced relationship, but as they continue to live together the bond between them grows. Will they be able to keep the balance to which they agreed…
Recommended by PHX:
There have been a lot of good romance anime recently and, coming from the studio behind some great anime, Fate/Stay Night, Konosuba, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni a few, there is potential for this to also be a good watch. A slightly different take on the “guy falls for the cutest girl at school” story that will be entertaining if they get the progression of the story right.
Hazurewaku no “Joutai Ijou Skill” de Saikyou ni Natta Ore ga Subete wo Juurin suru made (ハズレ枠の【状態異常スキル】で最強になった俺がすべてを蹂躙するまで)
Type: Anime
Studio: Seven Arcs
Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Based on the eponymous light novel by Kaoru Shinozaki and KWKM.
Starts airing: 5th of July 2024
Number of Episodes: Unknown
Mimori Touka and his classmates suddenly get transported into another world. This process gave most of them amazing abilities so that they can serve as the new world’s heroes. Sadly Mimori was not that lucky as his E-rank abilities get judged as being useless which causes the goddess to banish him to a dungeon that is deemed to be impossible to ever return from.
These so-called useless abilities of his ended up being several different ways to change an enemy’s status and even though they’re level 1 they still work on the dangerous enemies in the dungeon. This starts Mimori’s journey to get back to the surface and take revenge on the goddess and his former classmates.
Recommended by Lecros:
Although the main character Mimori has a strong, almost overpowered selection of abilities they still have a clear weak point since they have a time limit and can only be used on enemies in his vision. This creates a kind of tension where we’re still engaged in his struggles. After he inevitably gets out of the dungeon we follow his quest for revenge but in the end he will still need to overcome an opponent that is impervious to his abilities.
This show interests me because the main character still stays relatively kind and rational even though he focuses on taking his revenge while these kinds of stories often have characters where their revenge becomes their whole personality. Having a clear weakness to his abilities and not becoming impervious also makes him a bit more interesting. Let’s hope this hook pulls us into an entertaining tale of revenge in another world.
Senpai wa Otokonoko (先輩はおとこのこ)
Type: Anime
Studio: Project No.9
Genres: Romance, Crossdressing, School
Based on the eponymous web manga by Pomu.

Saki Aoi is a first year student with a vibrant personality, who falls head over heels in love with Makoto Hanaoka at first sight. She eagerly confesses her love to what she thinks is her female senior, but quickly finds out Makoto is not a girl, but a cross-dressing boy. Makoto expects Saki to be disgusted by this revelation, but instead she surprises him by declaring she will become his first love. As Makoto spends time with Saki and his childhood friend, his world becomes brighter and life becomes a little less hard, despite the struggles he faces.
Recommended by Yuki:
Lovely to see a focus on friendship as well as romance in this anime, given the addition of the childhood friend to the story. I hope this story focusses on both romance and Makoto’s journey to being himself, despite other people’s expectations.
Isekai Suicide Squad (異世界スーサイド・スクワッド)
Type: Anime
Studio: Wit Studio
Genres: Action, Isekai
Starts airing: 6th of July 2024
Number of Episodes: 10
Harely Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface and King Shark are notorious Super-Villains who get lethal explosives implanted in their necks. Running, hiding or failing at their mission means death, thus making them the “Suicide Squad”.
Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has something very different planned for her new assembled group: she’ll send them into another world where there is magic, dragons and orcs. Can the Suicide Squad survive in this Isekai and survive long enough to complete their mission?
Recommended by Yuki:
This isn’t generally my genre, but I am very curious how this one will turn out. Just watching the trailer alone brought up a lot of questions and confusion, as I’m sure Harley Quinn and the others will experience in this series too. I was a fan of the Suicide Squad movie, so I wonder how this series will differ and what will still seem familiar.
Kami no Tou: Ouji no Kikan (神之塔 -Tower of God- 王子の帰還)
Type: Anime
Studio: The Answer Studio
Genres: Action, Adventure, Drama, Fantasy, Mystery
Based on the manhwa “Tower of God” by SIU.
Starts airing: 7th of July 2024
Number of Episodes: Unknown
Strangely enough the story starts off with a completely new cast of characters following regular Ja Wangnan. On one of his attempts trying to pass the 20th floor he meets the mysterious (and to the viewers strangely familiar) Viole.
Among the original cast Yoru is believed to have died and out of respect for their friend they continue climbing the tower with Rachel since they believe that is what he would have wanted. This creates a strong alliance among their group and a force to be reckoned with for other regulars.
Season 2 will show more that we have come to love from the show while also going more in-depth about the inner workings of the tower.
Recommended by Lecros:
Tower of God is a story that always stays dear to me as it’s based on the first Korean webtoon I’ve really followed and I’ve continued to do so for years. Season 1 set the backstory and tone for the story but Season 2 is where we really got into the more interesting parts of the tower by introducing and expanding on the various organisations that control the tower. Yoru gets trained into a new role and will have to toughen up as the era of climbing with his friends is over. When that happens Season 2 might end up being even cooler than season 1 was.
Naze Boku no Sekai wo Daremo Oboeteinai no ka? (なぜ僕の世界を誰も覚えていないのか?)
Type: Anime
Studio: Project No.9
Genres: Action, Fantasy, Sci-Fi
Based on the eponymous light novel by Kei Sazane and neco.
Starts airing: 13th of July 2024
Number of Episodes: Unknown
After the great war of the different races humanity managed to come out on top thanks to the hero Sid. But what if you remove this variable and humanity loses everything? This is the current reality that our main character Kai is dealing with. From one day to the next everything completely changed and humanity ended up in a difficult position. Even worse: no one in this world remembers Kai anymore, not even his closest friends.
Recommended by Lecros:
What would you do when you suddenly wake up in a world where you don’t exist anymore? Personally I wouldn’t know for sure but trying to reconnect with the people I already knew would be at the top of my list. This is also something that our main character Kai tries to do with the people that have forgotten him. Of course we don’t want to get into it too deep and focus on the power fantasy. We do this by following Kai’s journey where he slips into the footsteps of humanity’s legendary hero Sid. For people that love a post-apocalyptic world, a power fantasy and an interesting mystery sub-plot (How did his world change to forget him and the hero Sid) this might be an interesting watch.
Delico’s Nursery (デリコズ・ナーサリー)
Type: Anime

Genres: Fantasy, Childcare, Vampires

Number of Episodes: Unknown
Despite being an elite member of the Blood Pact Council, Dali Delico flat out refuses to carry out his assigned mission. Other members go to persuade him, but find him cradling a young child. ”With all our blood and pride, let’s show that we can achieve both duty and child-rearing!”
How will they balance childcare with their other duties?
Recommended by Yuki:
A vampire childcare anime, what doesn’t sound interesting about that? It sounds like a series filled with funny moments, struggles and hopefully some heartwarming interactions with the children. If you’re up for a surprise, try this one out!
