Toppo are a popular product by LOTTE, simply put these are inside out cookie sticks. The chocolate filling is covered by a thin cookie outer layer, which helps keep your hands clean while you snack. You may recognize these delicious snacks from the Koala no March Chocolate House, which was reviewed some time ago.
These yummy treats are available in quite a few different flavours, and over time the available flavours change, but in this review you’ll find the following varieties: Milk Chocolate, Bitter Dark Chocolate, Strawberry Condensed Milk and Lemon Cheese Tart.
Toppo Filled Cookie Sticks – Milk Chocolate
Price: ±€3,-
These cookie sticks consisted of a thin outer cookie layer and a creamy, but not overly sweet, milk chocolate filling. The outer layer isn’t sweet, but not salty either, it’s a nice neutral cover that compliments the filling well.
Toppo Filled Cookie Sticks – Bitter Dark Chocolate
Price: ±€3,-
Unlike the other flavours the outer layer of these cookie sticks was a bit darker, but they didn’t seem to have a different flavour to them. The inner chocolate layer was slightly bitter, but not that different from the milk chocolate variety.
Toppo Filled Cookie Sticks – Strawberry Condensed Milk
Price: ±€3,-
Strawberry flavour was clearly present in the creamy filling, there was even a slight sourness to the filling. I didn’t recognize a condensed milk flavour specifically, but the filling was creamy. The thin cookie outer layer had a neutral flavour to it.
Toppo Filled Cookie Sticks – Lemon Cheese Tart
Price: ±€3,-
The neutral cookie outer layer compliments the lemon cheese tart filling well. Lemon was clearly present, but I didn’t recognize a cheese tart flavour specifically. The filling was creamy though.
These Toppo sticks all have a thin outer cookie layer, which is a nice addition to the creamy inner layers. Each box has its own design and includes two packs of Toppo. The lemon cheese tart variety stood out to me, because of its lemon flavour, but I did enjoy all of these varieties.
