On the last day of April, a short tour in Europe kicks off for the guitarless noise punk trio o’summer vacation. The three musicians have shows scheduled in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. This will be the first tour outside Japan for the band with the new line-up.

The tour takes place during Golden Week, an annual holiday period in Japan during late April and early May that is filled with various holidays. It is similar to how label mates Otoboke Beaver toured outside Japan during their limited holidays, before deciding to focus on making music and performing full-time.

The three-piece has been active since 2010, has undergone several band changes, with bassist Mikiiii as the only original band member and founding member. In 2021 o’summer vacation’s debut album was released through Damnably, titled WICKED HEART. Bass guitar, drums and vocals, that’s all they need. With the concept of ‘doing something weird’, they impress with their pace in high energy that can also be found in the music of bands like Melt Banana and Otoboke Beaver combined with mind-bending bass loops, thunderous drums and frenzied vocals.

Fun fact, on the finale of their short tour in Europe, the band will perform at Import/Export in Munich, with Berlin musician and artist Saiko Ryusui opening the evening, she is better known in the Do-It-Yourself underground music scene as the drummer of her own universal pop group Brabrabra. The day before, they will return to be appear at the festival Alien Disko whose line-up was put together by German indie rock band The Notwist. The three-piece band was also in Europe last December and May for performances, including their first Germany tour in May 2023.
