Before taking the renowned Headbangers Stage at the long-sold-out Wacken Open Air 2023 for the first time after winning the W:O:A Metal Battle in Japan, heavy metal band Phantom Excaliver will first unleash their sonic might in the Netherlands at the Big Ass Metal Fest held at dBs in Utrecht on Saturday 29 July.
The line-up for the spontaneously organised metal festival will also feature thrash/death/doom metal band A Sweet Suffering from Belgium and the Dutch heavy/thrash metal band Hallowed Fire. Then Phantom Excaliver’s travel in Europe continues to Germany, where the band will perform at Wacken Open Air on Thursday 3 August.
It seems that the mission of Phantom Excaliver is to bring smiles on the faces of the audience. The heavy metal band works with themes as dream, passion, hope and courage, which you can clearly hear in the music they have produced. While メタルは裏切らない (Metal Never Betrays Us) is a title of one of Phantom Excaliver’s song, it also seems to be the band’s current catchphrase which has also been a trending topic on Twitter.
In 2011 the band was formed, first as Phantom X and since 2013 they are active under the current band name. The band gets driven by the powerful voice of Kacchang who walks around with a sword that lights up, guitarist and back vocalist Matsu, and two recent additions to the band: bass player Tomo-P and drummer Yusaku. They entered the band earlier this year. The heavy metal band released two albums and more than a hand full of singles, most of which can be found on the major streaming services.
