The Highmarts will travel from Japan to France for a tour this July. This is a tremendously significant event for the Tokyo-based garage rock band because they have never performed in Europe before. In addition, the band will release their first best-of LP through Sound Flat Records in August, titled World Tour, the LP will include their first single I Want You Bad and the six tracks of Dodgy Demo. They have performed outside Japan before, namely in the United States, on the eve of the festival Burger Boogaloo. After the band finished up their shows in France, they will prepare for a one-man show in Tokyo in November.

Described by Tokyo Weekender as ‘the future of Japan garage rock’, The Highmarts got formed 10 years ago in 2013 when the members were still junior high students. At the moment, guitarist and singer Suzu is the only original member of The Highmarts and has the support of bass player Atsushi and drummer Minako. The Tokyo-based trio take their inspiration from music out of the 60s rock (specifically group sounds) and 70s punk.
