Amid all the positive festival and tour announcements from Japanese bands and artists, some not-so-nice news suddenly arrived for fans of heavy metal veterans LOUDNESS. After three postponements of the European tour, originally announced for 2020, it has been decided to scratch the entire plan. The tour was supposed to kick off in Germany in about four weeks with 14 shows, including two in the Netherlands and an appearance at the German Keep it True Festival.
Booking agency REDLIONMUSIC shared an official message about the cancellation: “We are very sorry that we must announce, the European Tour of Loudness is cancelled. We discussed multiple options back and forth in order to find a solution. However, we can’t perform the tour under the circumstances given. We are very sorry for everyone, who looked forward to these shows and hope to be back as soon as possible” In addition, the German tour organisation added that a lot has changed during the years of the COVID-19 pandemic and that they will work harder to bring the band back to Europe in a not-so-distant future.
Tickets bought for these shows can be handed in at the point of purchase. For that, keep an eye on the venues’ websites and/or social media for more information. It looks like the band will still tour North America in May and they announced earlier this year that they will tour Japan in June.
In regards to music, the heavy metal band did not sit still as they released a double album at the end of 2021, titled SUNBURST~我武者羅 (Gamushara). The album was released in commemoration of the band’s fortieth anniversary. You can read more about the concept and creation of the CD Jacket of this album here. Meanwhile, the heavy metal veterans are entering their 41st year in terms of the band’s existence and have yet to show any signs of planning to quit.
