AKARA in Europe for a handful of shows in France and Belgium

The members of rock band AKARA have just arrived in Europe for a handful of shows in France and Belgium, including Japan Tours Festival and Japan Expo Paris. All shows are scheduled to take place in July.

Sunday 3 July, 2022: Japan Tours Festival – Tours, France
Tuesday 5 July, 2022: L’Hirondelle – Paris, France
Saturday 9 July, 2022: Hotel Elberg – Mouscron, Belgium
Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 July, 2022: Japan Expo Paris – Paris, France
Monday 18 July, 2022: Espace Culturel Bertin Poirée – Paris, France
Tuesday 19 July, 2022: L’Hirondelle – Paris, France

Formed in 2014, the Japanese traditional rock band consists of multilingual vocalist MIKIKO and musicians that use traditional Japanese instruments, such as a koto, shinobue (bamboo flute), nohkan (flute of Noh), and a tsudzumi (drum), with this set-up, they fuse Japanese traditional instruments with rock music. In addition to their performances mainly in Tokyo, they have been in Europe before with performances at Japan Tag in Düsseldorf in 2017 and Japan Expo Paris in 2018 and 2019.

One of AKARA’s latest songs, is titled BERSERKER, the band’s first number with English lyrics. After releasing a couple of singles, the band released their first album in 2018, titled Crush the Rules. AKARA’s latest single is the Double-A single, Chronicle/DEAD OR ALIVE, which was released in March of this year.
