Product Review: Popin Cookin – Tanoshii Ramen

Photographs by MuchMunchies

Kracie – Tanoshii Ramen – Elaborate
Price: ± €8
Extra supplies: Water and Sciccors.

Tanoshii Ramen is the new version of this kit. With this renewed version you’ll not just be making dumplings and soup, but also spring rolls and pudding. In the packaging you’ll find five bags of powder, a mould, a pudding mould, a fork, a pick and a small piping bag.

Flavour: ♥♥
The white dough used in the spring rolls and dumplings had a mochi like texture and not a whole lot of flavour to it. The sprinkles added a cola flavour and fizzed a bit in my mouth. The flavour combination was a good fit.

The mango pudding is a new element, it had a pretty sturdy texture to it and had a slight mango flavour as well.

The noodles didn’t have a very strong flavour to them, they mainly tasted like the soup. The texture of the noodles was pretty sturdy, but easy to bite into. The soup itself tasted like cola.

Overall I enjoyed this kit, but I have to say I missed the candy used to make the dumplings in the previous kit. I preferred that flavour and texture over the one in this candy kit.

Time needed: ⧗
You don’t need a lot of time for this kit and there’s no waiting time.

Difficulty level: ★
This is a pretty easy candy kit to make, as long as you follow the instructions.

Similarity: 📷📷
As you can see on the pictures below, the final product looks pretty similar the same as the picture on the packaging. It is hard to get the dumplings and spring rolls looking as neat as they are on the packaging. And the egg and Naruto didn’t look as nice as I’d expected them to.

TIP: When spreading the dough for the spring rolls and dumplings it can help to dip your fingertips in water in between, so the dough won’t stick to your fingers.

Want to enjoy this kit again?

Clean the mould and container with warm water, after using it, and let it air dry.

To reuse this kit you could use kneadable candy and a drink. Jou could also make the noodles out of kneadable candy as well.

This is not a sponsored review and because of this I won’t mention where I bought this set, if you do an online search using the name of this kit you’ll be able to find this one in several webshops.
