Almost 70 Japanese artists will participate in YouTube Music Weekend vol.4

After YouTube Anime Weekend last weekend, this weekend we can look forward to the fourth edition of YouTube Music Weekend, a weekend full of Japanese music, organised by YouTube Japan.

The online event will take place from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 December and will feature a mix of fan favourites and emerging artists during YouTube Music Weekend Vol.4. The groups RADWIMPS, Nogizaka46 and ONE OK ROCK are the headliners of this weekend. YOASOBI will perform one song directly live from Nippon Budokan during their NICE TO MEET YOU performance, which is also their first in-person concert.

The three days will feature live footage specially shot for YouTube Music Weekend as well as previously recorded material not shared before. Organised in partnership with Japanese artists, music labels and management, the weekend will feature a total of 68 artists, with a day and midnight programme. The midnight programme will consist of Vtuber programming. This is a good chance to enjoy old favourites, but also to discover new names.

The content will be featured in the YouTube Music Weekend playlist and the YouTube Music Weekend Midnight playlist.

YouTube Japan has been working hard setting up a programme to provide digital support for entertainment companies and organisations affected by the outbreak of COVID-19 and has placed it under the umbrella of The Stage Lives On. YouTube Music Weekend Vol.4 is part of this programme.

The timetables for de daytime and midnight programming are subject to change.

This is a digital painting of the avatar of Vocaloid producer and songwriter Kikuo with colourful and flowing long hair and two red horns. The painting shows Kikuo in a movement where he moves his arms, making it look that he has several arms. The avatar seems to be mysterious with a quiet but expressive look. This painting has been used for the Kikuo World Tour 2024 – 2025 “Kikuoland-Go-Round” promotion.

Typo on band name YOASOBI (instead of YAOSOBI in the article)
